Grappling Brazilian JiuJitsu
Brazilian JiuJitsu is a combat sport focusing on ground fighting. The focus is on using leverage to apply joint locks and chokes so that a smaller or weaker person can successfully defend them-self against a larger opponent. Grappling was popularized in the MMA and UFC arenas in the early 80's and continues to thrive in combat sport arenas largely due to the emphasis on live training. We practice both gi(uniform) and no-gi in alternating weekly rotations and cater to men, women, teenagers and adults.
Look at all the benefits our grappling program offers:
Highly Qualified Instruction
Our head grappling instructor is a brown belt professor certified through the Gracie Barra Association and a Renzo Gracie student. Techniques are broken down into simple steps to make complex moves easy to understand. Advanced students are also available for help and guidance as the curriculum is practiced in class. We practice an average of only 2-4 techniques each class to ensure full comprehension of the course material.
Exciting Classes
Teens and adults enjoy the thrill of grappling! Each class you will learn powerful self-defense techniques designed to break bones, separate joints and crush appendages. Our students have a great attitude for learning and sharing that makes each class better than the last. You will find yourself smiling, sweating and learning alongside many new friends.
Unique Fitness Programming
Because of the emphasis on live training, each and every class will have a chance to drill and train the techniques learned that day. Nothing will help you get in shape like grappling as you discover and tone new muscles and sweat your way choke by choke to a stronger healthier body. The workouts are guaranteed to be challenging and exciting.
Safe Training
We utilize all of the best safety practices to keep our students training. We train on the best 1.5 inch training mats money can buy in a spacious location. All students are taught and encouraged to "tap out" before a technique can cause any pain or damage on a joint. Students are encouraged to practice "catch and release" submissions for the safety of their partner. Each match begins with a handshake or five to indicate readiness and friendship. If your coming to train, enter only with a positive attitude.
Realistic Self-Defense
Law enforcement, military, secret services, bodyguard agencies, Bouncers, and cage fighters all practice Jiujitsu because of its proven record of success as a self-defense art. Joint locks, chokes and pins allow students to transcend physical differences to overcome larger more powerful opponents.
